Welcome

Few places could match this idyllic holiday villa set in three acres of tropical gardens just 20 paces from the palm-fringed shores of the Indian Ocean. It is situated 35 miles south of Mombasa just beyond the fishing village of Msambweni. A spacious, Swahili coast style house with four double bedrooms en-suite, it is one of a handful of properties situated in a beautiful, unspoilt bay. Looking out to a pristine and remote beach the front garden runs directly onto the seafront - a 2km stretch of white sand flanked by palm and casuarina trees in the most tranquil setting. One can bathe safely in the warm waters within the coral reef; wander out at low tide across the rock pools; walk the unspoilt beach where turtles nest or simply sunbathe and watch the traditional fishing dhows gently passing. An outer reef lies approximately 400 metres from the shore, hosting a variety of tropical fish, marine life and coral. Snorkelling trips in a traditional dhow can easily be arranged. In the garden above the cliff there is a private fresh water swimming pool where guests can enjoy a change from the beach and spend a lazy time on a sunbed or in the pool.

Jinchini House is fully serviced by a great team of staff led by the personable Kassim, a House Manager who speaks excellent English. They do everything they can to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable.  Between them they cook, serve meals, housekeep, do laundry, and provide on site security. They are a huge part of what makes Jinchini so special. The house is equipped with all linen, house and beach towels.

Fresh fish and seafood such as crab, prawn and lobster can be ordered at the back door from local fishermen. The village has local supplies of fresh vegetables and fruit. There are several supermarkets for other needs in Diani - the main resort 30-minutes' drive away from where you can find shops, restaurants, sports and night life.

A stay at Jinchini can be perfectly combined with a wildlife safari by train or car to Tsavo or daily flights from Ukunda (Diani) airstrip which is only a 30 minute drive to many of the world-famous East African game parks.  Day trips to the nearby Shimba Hills forest for elephant and the famous sable antelope or to Kisite Marine Park for snorkelling.
